Desires and Ego

The base of any desire is Ego. Without the platform of the ego, one can never have a desire to possess certain thing. Desire is the expression of the ego because Ego is the incomplete manifestation of the soul. That incomplete feeling can only be completed by possessing something all the time (that is why the nature of desire is very dynamic, moving from one to the other) or by being in touch with the source called Soul. Common man follows the first route which is always illusive while the sadhaks thrive for the later route.

Fortunately the easiest way to manage the ego is just being aware of that. Awareness melts the separation of ego from the soul. When the ego is realised the desire can not stand up as the platform is removed. They just collapse. No Ego no possession, No possession no desire.
